Welcome to Crossakiel

Crossakiel is a small village 10 kilometers outside Kells and is famous for the Kells Motorbike Road Races. This website was setup to help promote local businesses and to provide a portal for residents regarding local news and information relating to the surrounding areas.

Q. Who setup the up Crossakiel.com?

A. Crossakiel.com was setup by a local resident in Crossakiel to help the local community, promote tourism to Crossakiel, educate regarding various topics that may or may not be in the media and to promote local businesses.

Q. Who funds Crossakiel.com?

A. Crossakiel.com is completely funded by the local resident. There is no community grant or payment received by the local council.

Q. Who designed Crossakiel.com?

A. The website is hosted and designed by a local resident. 

Q. How do you get your information?

A. From a community point of view, personal experiences living in the village and speaking to local residences. From a world view, obviously news sources from the internet plus personal experiences.

Q. Can I do anything to help?

A. Yes. We always need people on the ground who have news of things going on in the community. You can submit articles about any subject matter you would like to write about as long as it is not offensive to anyone.  If you have a special area that you would like to write about, let us know by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Q. Are you a member of a local committee?

A. No. I have no connection with a local committee although I feel that Crossakiel do need a community group of some sort.

 

 

Directions

Coming in from the South (Dublin) - Take the R168 Old Castle Road out of Kells towards Oldcastle and following this for 10km until you come to a fork in the road. Take the left turn signed posted for Crossakiel, which will take you straight into Crossakiel village.

Coming in from the North (Cavan) - There is access to Crossakiel from Carnaross, however, Crossakiel is not sign posted at the crossroads. So if your not familar with the roads, proceed to Kells Town and Take the R168 Old Castle Road out of Kells towards Oldcastle and following this for 10km until you come to a fork in the road. Take the left turn signed posted for Crossakiel, which will take you straight into Crossakiel village.
