Once a year around June/July, the Kells Road Race takes place at Crossakiel (although the race was not always at Crossakiel). The first race took place in 1994 at a circuit close to Kells, at Dulane.

The Kells and District Motor Cycle Racing Club (which was founded in October 1992) were looking around for an ideal circuit and found it in the beautiful village of Crossakiel. The village is situated approximately 10 kilometers from Kells. The Kells Road Race is quickly becoming the Irish Republics second biggest motorcycle event after Skerries. Kells Road Race

The race track is in superb condition with a bit of everything, jumps, wide fast main road and spectacular side roads. The circuit itself is 2.2 miles long. It is ideal for riders to get to know and has easy access around the track for spectators with many vantage points.

Besides being offered spectacular racing, race fans can be assured of a friendly greeting from the people of Kells and Crossakiel.
