St Ciaran's Well - Kells |

St Ciaran's Well and the High Crosses are roughly 5 km from Crossakiel in the direction of Kells. St Ciaran (fl. C8 and perhaps biographer of St. Patrick) founded a monastery on the site. The Crosses were apparently markers for the boundary of the site. Nowadays there is a festival on the first Sunday in August to celebrate the curative power of the water from Ciaran's Well.
