Due to the increase in crime in Co. Meath, The Gardai have launched a new text alert service for local communities.
A meeting took place on Monday the 9/12/2013 in the Kilskyre community hall to discuss the text alert process and to start the initial service for registered users. Text alert signs will be placed around each village once the decision has been made regarding the amount of signs required and the best location for each one. The plan is to have a sign displayed on the entrance to each village. This will hopefully detair anyone planning to commit a crime.
Guide Lines for using the text alert system:-
Step 1. If you see anything suspicious, contact Kells Garda station on 046 928 0820.
Step 2. If the gard checks the details that you have given him i.e. a car registration which is suspicious, he will request that you text the alert service.
Step 3. The text alert service will then send an alert text out to all the registered users with the relevant information e.g. A partial licence plate and car etc Text Alert Areato watch out for.
Please Note: If a crime is taking place, please contact 999 immediately.
If you wish to be registered on the text alert service, please download the form below, fill it out and give it to Kevin/Pat from the Crossakiel Tidy Towns committee.
