Major repair and improvement works to road and footpaths in the village of Crossakiel have recently been approved by the Kells Municipal District Councillors.
Fianna Fáil County Councillor for the area Sean Drew has confirmed that the L6838 in the village centre has been included in the road restoration programme for 2016. In addition €50,000 has been allocated to repair and upgrade the footpaths on this road in the village. These works are due to take place over the coming months. In announcing the works Cllr Drew stated "the condition of the road and footpaths in Crossakiel have deteriorated badly over recent years and this overdue investment in their upgrade is extremely welcome".
