It was great to see so many people from Kells attend the Irish Water protest yesterday (10/12/2014). A big "thank you" to Seamus Mcdough for organsing the coach to Dublin. A great atomsphere on the coach going down and coming back. Estimated numbers go from 100,000 to 300,000 protesters. As we all know by now, you never believe the main stream media like RTE and the newspapers. Denise O'Brien, through his company Commicorp now has control of the majority of the media in Ireland so what you will hear and read is propaganda, not the facts.
For some people who think this is just about water meters, they would be sadly mistaken. This is about a dictatorial Government who have ignored the people of Ireland for their own selfish interests and corruption. The water meters are the straw that broke the camels back. Yes, there are people who will just say that we should just pay the bill, but these people obviously do not live in the real world. Pay it with what? People don't have the money, and why should we have to pay for water again? If this is setup, then all our services will be privatised and sold off, this includes the Gardaí. In the UK they are already testing this by replacing the police with G4S security personnel.
We already pay for water (1.2 Billion), why are we paying for it again? If we do nothing about this and let the Government continue privatising our resources, then we only have ourselves to blame, no one else. The attitude of "sure what can you do?" is just another way of saying that you cannot be bothered. Well, we have been warned and if we do nothing, we will be leaving this legacy to our children and our children's children's if we sit around and do nothing.
I have been involved with the National Land League in helping people stay in the homes and stopping the banks evicting them by attending Trim court and giving free advice and information about how the National Land League might be able to help them. We are all a pay check away from defaulting on our mortgage. Some people cannot afford oil or food or trying to keep their car on the road to do the school run, afraid that they will be stopped by the Gardaí and their car taken off them. When you see this first hand, you know something has to be done.
These meetings are non-political and do not involve any political party.
